Top 10 Spinal Injuries

Spinal Deformity

The most common form of spinal deformity is scoliosis, which may occur during the adolescent growth spurt or develop in adulthood secondary to degenerative disk disease over several spinal levels.

If the deformity in adulthood is mild then it may cause lower back pain, which is usually responsive to non-surgical treatment. However, if the deformity is progressive, and especially if causes nerve root symptoms due to spinal stenosis, then surgery may be the only definitive treatment available.
